I Am Paranoid

Paranoid would be too strong a word but I have a bad habit of jumping to the conclusion something was stolen from me if the thing I can't find is something I can usually keep track of... if that makes sense?

I'd imagine that's because I've always lived with people who would take my things. My mom used to steal money from relatives all the time- myself included. When my great grandparents died they gave the money they wanted to leave for my brother and I to my aunt and uncle because they knew my mom would use it herself, for example. She'd also take really random things- toothbrushes, jackets, homework, stuffed animals, books... then hide all that in her closet.

My step-mom would steal my mouthwash, Prozac, Adderall, soda, nail polish remover, video games... if she couldn't pour it down the sink she'd throw it away or flush it.

And my dad stole my pocket-knives. Though that has more to do with knives being more "boyish", for the lack of a better word, and I'm his daughter than it does with him stealing. Because otherwise he's an honest dude.

I dunno. Old habits die hard I guess.

Sounds more like bitter experience than paranoia tbh. Paranoia is usually really irrational.
