Would love to do old Route 66 , or the around the coasts from East to West.

Some parts of Route 66 are still driveable; most aren't maintained. Some people have successfully driven very slowly through those areas. Other areas are completely impassable, for example, bridges out over canyons that are 60+ meters deep. Contact local authorities first or various Route 66 groups.
