I Love Shaving My Legs

I love how my legs look shaved, but I get horribly itchy after. Creme helps a little, but the itching is so bad I can't sleep sometimes and it makes me crazy.

Epilating works to get rid of the itching, but it is not fun to do.

My electric razor works, but it doesn't take the hair down as far as shaving does, but it also doesn't leave me itchy. It means shaving a lot more though due to hair growing back quickly.

Maybe I should make a trip to Mexico and have it all lasered off? Has anyone tried this? I hear those home laser guns don't really work well.

Have you tried good old Nair? It smells a little bit but the stuff works and doesn't cause the itching. It exfoliates the dead layer of skin that everything else leaves behind and THAT causes the itching. Soap and shaving-cream dry the skin afterwards and leaves a bit of a film and can drive you crazy. Plus it's not expensive at all.

I like Nair for my underarms
Maybe I will try this next. Thank you.

I'm not sure how long you have been shaving your legs but on the plus side the itching does eventually stop after a while. When I first started i used to itch myself bloody, now I can go as far as to DRY shave and I'm just fine.
Maybe it is somewhat related to that. I stopped shaving for a while and then started again. The first time I shaved it wasn't too bad, second was OK too, but then I changed to a new razor that had 4 blades instead of 3, and the itching was incredible. Perhaps the 4 blade is taking off too much?

@AdventureRider: might be.

Have you tried Shaving cream formulated for sensitive skin? I wouldn't have my hair permanently removed, because though shaving for me is hygiene, I also see it as pampering myself.
That stuff smells so bad, and I am married with kids, so I have to do things on the sly. I might do that over XMas holidays though since I will be here by myself.

It is also expensive to use that on a regular basis.

@AdventureRider: I actually found Skintimates Shave Cream lotion for fairly cheap at Walmart. It doesn't foam, and is really good to prevent knicks, and cuts. A good rinse after, and baby oil are how I finish.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could just sit in the bathtub and all the hair would vanish. :)
