It is the relentlessly resilient members like you that wield the greatest power to intervene for good. And face horrors unimaginable to us cozy citizens. And therefore readily perceive where the need is greatest.
While my exposure has not been as hands on, I've lived in communities where it was clearly visible, witnessed its effects in the lives of loved ones and suffered a bit myself and faced that granite wall of hopelessness. The least we can do is extend a hand down into that chasm to others.
