Those of you who think Mexico won't pay for the wall clearly have no international experience

The US is one of very few countries that don't have a VAT tax scenario - and we soon will - thanks to congressional inniatives - it's not trade tariff - it's internationally accepted policy that renders fair trade without the bullshit 'trade pacts"
Y'all are ignoramuses ...

they have the VAT in Morocco but there's still a lot of smuggling of merchandise into Morocco from Spain and Algeria...the govt. seems to turn a blind eye to most of it because there are at least two small trade towns on the Mediterranean coast of Morocco where the merchandise is sold. Individuals buy it and sell it to people in souks but they aren't allowed to sell it in regular stores.

I heard a discussion about it several years ago and they said the Euro countries that had it improved their economies after it went into effect.

So if we send the bill for the wall to Mexico they won't pay? We have to resort to "internationally accepted policy" and hit them with a VAT tax?

Hmm.. That sounds exactly like what he said during the campaign... 🤔
