@NigelDoes: I believe she could carry 70,000 pounds of bombs.Again thankfully never used in warfare.It was built to bomb Germany from bases in the United States if Britain fell.

Yeah. The Peacmaker. Pretty much the largest operational strategic bomber up to that point. Then came the Boeing B-52 and dwarfed this B-36. This plane is feature in the film Strategic Air Command with Jimmy Stuart and June Allyson. Lots of Air Force footage of it in that movie and it looks fabulous!
