I Write Mediocre Poetry

Choosing to live one's life on emptying one's individual soul,
Always longing for the flesh which voids the being and creates a heart with a gigantic hole,

Content to fool oneself beyond what is real and true,
Flying away with blinders on, which distort and skew,

Unable to look in the mirror and find peace of mind,
Living a life which displeases oneself and God can be very unkind,

Chasing the wind, with eyes covered up within the darkness of the night,
A heart and soul in constant flight, no longer willing to fight or to seek shelter within the light,

So easy it is to get lost in the world's vacuum which sucks away your very soul leaving it dry,
Priorities and plans which really matter often go awry,

Refusing to soar beyond our limits and swim beyond the safety of the shore,
Rotting our souls to the very inner core,

How to get back to God and truly find one's way,
Taking this road is often the hardest thing they say,

It requires us to be steadfast and true to one's individual soul,
Never taking the easy way out, never to be bought or sold,

Life really comes down to self-reflection and self-examination,
Not to feel sorry for oneself and get lost in meaningless procrastination,

Be fervent and have the passion for the things that really matter,
Find somebody who cares for your soul rather than all that useless chatter,

Find the connection beyond the flesh, for the flesh is empty and fleeting,
It will just beat you up and fill one up with things never any one of us are needing, it will just keep each heart and soul in constant bleeding,

A journey through life without any real purpose often haunts all of us who value substance, truth and lasting love,
We often look but rarely see ourselves turning our backs on God who is always there with his infinite mercy from above,

There is a point in time we must make a change,
A real change which will last with priorities we know are important and we have to finally rearrange,

Tomorrow is forever but time often passes in the blink of an eye,
We need to stop existing, resisting and stop living a lie,

Time to to dance the meaningful dances, walk the difficult walks and throw the meaningless promises we make to ourselves away,
For to be true to oneself requires all of us to live within God's light each and every day,

Take a look in the mirror and determine if your soul is worth keeping,
Stop making excuses and do it what it takes to truly start believing,
For there is not one soul left on this earth which isn't worth redeeming...
