Why can't we create our own groups on Similar Worlds?

The team may eventually allow the creation of groups, but this feature needs a lot of thought and discussion before being released.

If creation of groups is allowed freely, we may end up with many duplicate and misspelled group again. Members may also label the content rating of a new group incorrectly in that case, which caused a lot of problems in the first days of SW with adult groups appearing in the non-adult areas.

The team has different ideas to secure the creation of new groups properly. They may allow some setup where members can suggest new groups for creation, and SW staff would have to approve these groups manually. Otherwise group creation may be limited to certain groups of members, such as Admins, Staff, Moderators, Helpers, and Trusted Members (those with a high reputation).

In the mean time members can use the group search and make use of the large variety of groups already available.

Suggestion without feedback: Do not require group names to start with "I ".

I feel your words, what you are trying to say. I too would love a special group for those who enjoy writing. I write poetry. Also I have ONE book published. I have a good bit. Love to share as well, but The moderators in here aren't very sociable. To bad we cannot have mods that want to help. But they are watching....example Last evening I was trying to get the attention of a moderator to help me log in. (I can only get in S.W. by going into my 'Gmail' click to respond and I end up here.)Now just below me, I have an advert from Google in BOLD letters telling me to login my account. So S.W. knows I have a gmail account. No I don't need to reset my password. I need you to get your login to work!

Actually there are mods in here all the time, I think 24/7 not that they are working. Simply monitoring.

The people who made this site imported all the existing groups from EP and they decided there were enough groups already. You can't make groups here

Quite frankly I think they should remove a lot of them namely the sicko groups and the redundant ones

I currently can't log in. I use my 'back door' to get in here. I go to my email and click to respond to a Query asked in here and here I am. But S.W login isn't working. Not for me anyway. (every response to a question goes to my email. Nic, email and password isn't accepted. And there are no mods in here to direct me on what to do.
I am asking a mod to contact me in my email.

According to some other users on here, the admins won't let us make new groups because too many people would make groups with grammatical/spelling errors.
