Why is it so hard to change good?

[c=#003BB2]I tried to get rid of my old habits and other stuff recently
but it's hard....[/c]
Being good isn't hard. It all comes down to what our priorities are and the values we hold in every day life. Temptations are all around us. Bad stuff gets glorified in the news. People do good things all the time, but our society is slow to give praise and attention where it is most deserving. We always have choices in life. But there are times we struggle with those choices. We want to be a little wild or bad to experience it ourselves. But most rational people will think about it, but then do the right thing. People generally fear facing the consequences of their actions. They fear being publicly shamed and humiliated. Those fears keep people grounded in what really counts.

I'm in the same boat, I need to quit smoking, get off my lazy butt and stop spending money foolishly and watch my behavior around my kids, because I come accross as immature and foolish around them. when I'm the parent. I wish I could change for the better
What type of habits?
