What's the difference between marriage and civil partnership in the UK?

In Canada, if two people live together for 6 months, they're as good as married/civil partners.

It's discrimination. The two judges who were against it were leant on by political influence. This is the end of the law in the uk if it allows politicians to affect a judicial case.
