Three or four times.
Once because the lady concerned was far younger than I. And I could see all sorts of problems, at some point had we got together.
Others because they were looking more for a 'rescuer' from their current relationships rather than taking control; leaving whatever was making them unhappy and re-starting life on their OWN terms.

@MirusMe: I mean I definitely learned from it, but I can't stop beating myself up for it. I didn't even fully realize what I was doing at the time. It was like part of my brain shut off and the rest went into panic mode.
