I hate spiders

Ugly little long-legged things that somehow always find their way into my home, no matter how many times I coat the walls in teflon and epoxy. By this point I'm not even mad at them, I'm genuinely impressed they can keep getting in.
I was in the bath the other day when I noticed there was a spider on the celiing. I considered killing it or throwing it out the window but considering how hard it had to work to get in, I gave it a spot of sympathy and let it stay there.
I still hate them mind you. If I see a spider on my desk it dies immediately, especially if it's getting crafty and trying to get inside my mug of Dr Pepper. But I do admire their determination. Spiders are a species that want for nothing yet we fear them so irrationally. There are some species of spider that can kill just with a bite, there are some that I swear could kill just with a look.
And while I do have a personal rule of deciding the fate of whoever is in my house, particularly the lives of insects, spiders are one species I do find myself admiring, and hating at the same time.
So if you are a spider out there, please stay the hell away from me. I know my house looks so warm and inviting and friendly but believe me, there is a glowing cigarette lighter waiting just for you if you get too close.
