Could you be friends with someone who disagrees with the way you live your life?

Peaceful · F
Sure. Lots of people disagree with my choices. But I've reminded them that they are mine to make. And they respect that.
SW-User
It's the same for me. But I wonder how long I can do this
Peaceful · F
@MrMarcus: for the ones that respect you, your choices and boundaries...you may have to gently remind them.
The ones that don't, I no longer invest my time in.
SW-User
@Peaceful: thank you. You are right
Madelenie · 26-30, F
Yes, and this is my life, it won't change because of their opinions anyway
sighmeupforthat · 46-50, M
they're not my friends.

not all of us share the same views on life but if they're in disagreement that means they're preaching me to change.

no, i can't have that.

they want their freedoms but if they see fit that mine are irrelevant then they can go F' themselves.
SW-User
What if they don't directly tell you to change?
SW-User
I could.
But they could not.
And I'd have to let them go.
Would have to.
"Let us drink, eat and make merry for tomorrow we perish."
I'll straighten out, but meanwhile I'd be missing out if I didn't have friends that disagreed with my careless impulsive nature.

@puck61: What if you had a "friend" who doesn't want you to go to church or belive in God anymore? Could you be friends with them?
@MrMarcus: Well, I'm friends with people who want me to go to Church and get right with Jesus, so why not?
