once brought home a black beetle that was the same size and looked exactly like a scarab from The Mummy movies..actually, he hitched a ride in my guitar case from an outdoor gig that i played at the night before..had no idea he was lurking about until i strapped my guitar on the next day and felt something crawling on my neck...it didn't help that just the week before we watched The Mummy movie..needless to say, I freaked out (just a little😉)

@cherokeepatti: When I lived in an apartment I found a light brown spider with bright green eyes in the bathroom...then I found another one in my daughter's trash can...told her that's what would happen if she didn't clean her room, weird bugs would come in and take over...she got her room cleaned up really quickly....she was a teen then That was the only time I saw that type of spider. Ironically when she was 19 and living in her own apartment she was sorting laundry in her room and got bit by a brown recluse spider on her hand while sorting her laundry.

@cherokeepatti: yeah, once we stayed at a cabin in the Smokies and the cabin rental people warned us about finding scorpions in the cabin..well, I'm picturing these things that are several inches long, like at the zoo or in the movies..well, I found a scorpion in the bathtub..and I swear, that thing was the tiniest thing I'd every seen!! Of course, the wife is freaking out..it was only about 1/2" long!! hahahaha...she still swears today that it was huge though 🙄

@booboo: it probably had just jumped off it's mama's back....the ones here are a light brownish yellow and not nearly as big as those big black ones. I had one crawl up my leg under my jeans and it got all the way up to the top of my knee, my jeans were real baggy cause I was loosing weight quickly & didn't have time that week to take them in....I slipped them off thinking it was another stinging ant and there layed a scorpion on the floor...I freaked out. And my sister was taking a bath one time and got in the tub and for some reason turned around and looked and there was a scorpion at the back of the sloped back tub trying to crawl out. There are more scorpions here this year because we didn't have a real winter to kill any of them out.
