I Love Theater

Theater is my passion. Ever since my freshman year in high school, I have grown to love it. Back then I wasn't too used to it though I only liked acting and wouldn't apply for tech as a back up which I now know was very selfish of me. I did the same in sophomore year in which I got a small role in a class I wasn't exactly part of, a government agent in "You Can't Take It With You". That experience was just okay, I got a bit of a feeling as to how productions are like. It was that year I inducted into the school Thespian Troupe. Junior year was key for me, I went to all meetings and all events, which is VERY hard to do. I also got a fun Role as a soldier in "The Mouse That Roared" and also got some experience in lighting yet that wasn't the crew for me due to the amount of slacking it can involve. Well acting as a soldier was very fun, I decided my character was the "sleepyhead" of the group of soldiers and act quite tired yet I don't think I portrayed the role good enough. My first time applying for plain tech was "Of Mice and Men" for the set construction crew. From day 1 I knew it was crew for me. I learned a lot of craftsmanship from it. It also helped me build my muscles up to QUICKLY go from the weakest guy in the theater to the STRONGEST guy in the theater and even had to represent our class in an armwrestling competition between the school. My first match lasted 8 minutes and I won after he gave in. I made it to semifinals but knew I was going to lose to the next guy easy, yet I put up a 3 minute fight anyway.
Back to Of Mice And Men... Well, I also worked on stage crew for it and it was a great experience. My best friends Zach and Dane were also on that crew. Towards the end the crew panicked with nowhere to have a cast party so I even hosted it. Mom went through a lot of work to buy supplies and snacks for it.
I thought my theater service was over for the year but I was wrong. The stage crew for the musical production of Mary Poppins needed volunteers. When I heard that I was one of 10 to volunteer. This would probably be one of the best yet at same time worse experiences of my life. It was best because we shown so much talent and had to add in like 4 extra shows to satisfy the audience in which every night would be a FULL HOUSE. We'd even add one day before doing it and almost almost have full house. What was dreadful for me was that all the volunteers except for me got sick or injured. Our stage crew heads had various injuries. Even I had sickness in the stomach that made me constantly taste stomach acid and my poop would be very bloody at times yet I would not give up. My stomach was very upset as well, at times I'd wait in the halls and rest a bit due to how terrible I'd feel yet I'd know we'd already lost enough tech for me to drop. If I left it would die
