Random: My Gandma can't tell the difference between Toni Braxton and Adele

To her credit, she stopped listening to music in 1979. I like to put my iPod on shuffle when I drive (I can't stand most of the crap on the radio) and Toni Braxton's Just Be A Man About It started to play.

My Grandma was actually listening (normally she zones out) and she asked, "Who is this?"

I said, "Toni Braxton, this song is almost as old as me."

She quipped, "I didn't know they made this type of music when you were born."
(We have a running joke that I was born in 1940.)

Anyway, the song ends and Adele's When We Were Young started to play.

Grandma instantly blurted, "Is this that Toni Braxton fella?"

I chuckled and said, "Toni is a woman, and no, this is Adele."

She nodded and said, "This isn't as bad as that Sunday guy."

I said (knowing whom she was referring), "I thought you liked Cant Feel my Face, you were grooving to it earlier."

She said, "Dancing to music and listening to music are two different things."

I just laughed, actually agreeing with her.

That's funny. My parents, who are still sharp octogenarians were talking to my best friend's son, (he was about 20 at the time):
(Mom): So I suppose like many young people you're into that---what is it---"hippity-hop" music ?
(Pop): Like that fellow, "Snoopy-dog" ?
