I believe in God, I believe in one God one named baptism. I believe in the Bible but not religion. I feel religion has sent more people running away from God then anybody would like to admit.

I think we are here to bring glory to God, in all that we do, or say. I think we are to live our lives in such a way as to shine a light on Gods glory living within us, We are to learn and grow in our knowledge of Him, in order to prepare for our life time with Him, when we leave this earth. This is our school, if we fail to pass the tests, then we will be taken thru the subject again, until w get a passing grade. God has given us His guidelines in His word, as to what He expects from us, and this is our proving ground, There will be nothing that offends in any way allowed into Heaven. All that stuff has to be given up here on earth, we cannot take any baggage with us. Our job here is to love God with all our heart, mind , soul, and body, and our neighbor as ourselves. To walk in continual forgiveness, leaving behind all bitterness, anguish, hatred, malice, etc. Love = Life

Never really thought about it like that. Different things I've heard and read from other people has caused me to see words and life differently. Also things that I myself have experienced. What worked in the past doesn't work now. I think it was Albert Einstein who said, doing the same things and expecting different results is the definitely of insanity. I'm not sure if I just went away from the topic or not by what I just wrote but that's what came to mind. :)

My belief is unconventional and growing as my relationship and understanding changes. To me God is a living being in there here and now. He communicates with us. He is spontaneous. He does not condemn or judge. And calling Him God can be misleading to some. Creator maybe. I don't believe inheaven or hell. I truly believe God will enlighten us in death. We Are all born with the moral law.

CaptMike I've had a problem with being called a sinner since forever. I've made 'mistakes' that other people have called sin. If all of our walks are between God and each of us, which I agree is true, then please tell me who has called you a sinner. Other people or God? God has never called me a sinner. People have. It just blows my mind how we are taught to think.

CaptMike, you are so right on in my book. It's spirituality as well, for me, that's causing many to run. To many people want to 'tell' others what something or someone means instead of letting others come to their own conclusion. We are all a bunch of hypocrites until we're not... :) And I say that in the kindest way I know... :)

I call my self a sinner, we're born into sin from Adam an Eves first sin. But Jesus came to earth as God to wash our sins away. I have not kept the 10 commandments ( I have not killed anyone) lol God forgives your sins, washes them away in baptism in Jesus name

How did we end up from trusting in a God of Love to sin. Thanks for all of your comments but I choose to talk about positive. This is a depressing conversation. I want positive. Don't like preachers preaching.

Yes it's true.... my walk with God is between Him an i. I thank Him for His grace everyday, cause I'm a sinner, yet He still forgives me. I know He is still using me to reach people "the church" won't. I started a biker ministry.

Hi Axeroberts... What do you believe God is? My perspective on what I was taught about God and what God is, and what my life experiences have been has altered my understanding of God.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
But remember in the bible it defines sin like this and it has nothing to do with sex

mes 4:17Amplified Bible (AMP)

17 So any person who knows what is right to do but does not do it, to him it is sin.

That reminds me of the song Imagine by the Beatles. Being enlightened in death is an interesting thought but I have noticed an enlightenment while I'll living.

Purpose of life is different for everyone until they come to a point where their specific purpose is not working.
Silverwings · 61-69, F
God tells us that we have all sinned, (are sinners), and that all are in need of a Savior. This is found in His Holy Word.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
Perhaps. I guess it seems shallow to think we only have a single purpose. And maybe purpose is the wrong word to describe it
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
Well that is what is great about this site: we can write what comes to mind. And change is key to life
Justpeaceandlove · 61-69, F
Maybe our purpose changes as we experience different things in life.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
I guess I see enlightenment as understanding our life here on earthand its purpose.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
I also feel that belief in God adds a dimension to life we cannot get any other way
Justpeaceandlove · 61-69, F
Thanks for saying that. I like this site. It's very interesting.
Silverwings · 61-69, F
I agree totally, and I am very glad you are sticking to it!!!
Justpeaceandlove · 61-69, F
That's your story and your sticking to it, I assume. :)
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
I guess I feel I have yet to find mine
