Remember what Jesus said: You have to hate your own family if you want to be his buddy.

How do you spin Luke 14:26 (KJV) = "If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple."
Luke 14:26 (VOICE) = "Jesus: If any of you come to Me without hating your own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, and yes, even your own life, you can’t be My disciple."
You're taking it out of context, you don't know what your saying.

quoting Scripture does not help you make whatever point that you want to convey. Understanding it will help you out.

So, you are unable to put a positive spin on it. Well, spend your time worshipping and loving the king and the high priest of the Jews. Enjoy your eternity as a slave to him. Remember, if you do something that displeases him he will beat you severely.
But, since you really don't believe in him you can just say so and no one (at least me) will criticize you. After all, you don't follow his commandments so just admit that you are a non-believer.

Dear GodSpeed63, these are very good verses. Why this question in first place? Because, sometimes an intentionally harmless question can trigger doubts in people’s mind who really don’t go through the whole message. Why give that chance? And the title God is Evil is a bit uncomfortable and unsettling even if it was for testing the knowledge and understanding.

My brother, Diotrephes; and others like him need to know the truth, that God is Love. If you know a better way to express it, please share it with me.

@GodSpeed63 I was not trying to be critical, my brother. But, I feel the title can be slightly modified. I get your reason though. So if you feel this will work…how about ‘Love that endures’ for a title.
@ManuelShorey Dear Manuel, I think you would have had to been here for quite a few years to understand why he posed that question. I understand it, because I've been here since 2016 and watched all the trolls constantly claim that God is evil, just to try and get a reaction out of followers of Christ. This was sort of a scripture reminder that God's character is not one that is evil, at all. This tells us why it's so important to read God's Word and get a good understanding of who he is. Of course the biggest proof of God's love, was his sacrifice on the cross to pay for our sins.
Amen. I think John 3:16 and 17, says it all.

You know that unbelievers will always use the acts of God as a means to say he doesn't love but he is evil.
But it is not in them, nor do they want it to be, to see / understand who God is and how he works.

You missed Isaiah 45;7...

Read the whole chapter and, if you still don't understand, then get saved and let the Spirit of God explain it.

Don't take that out of context, Mr. Wallaby. There's nothing evil about God. He is love personified and just as sometimes we have to discipline our children because we love them, so does God.
God doesn't create moral evil (sin, wickedness). This verse serves as a reminder that even difficult times serve God's greater, redemptive purpose, much like a prison serves justice.

@newjaninev2 That must have been the devil that did that. God only does the good stuff like drowning nearly every living being on earth.

@MoveAlong Apparently the rest of humanity didn't have, or even know about, boats 😂

@newjaninev2 The goodness inherent in the fabric of creation is beyond the duelistic flawed projections of mankinds manufactured morality and especially beyond our even more greatly flawed logic. The reward of a good man is the blessing of his own virtue whereas the punishment of an ignorant man is the prison of his own stupidity. Divine justice, if you will, is inlaid into a far deeper strata of universal law than even evolution. It only becomes apparent to higher meta-cognitive life through intuitive reasoning, if you cannot see it and do not possess such reasoning then you should question whether you are really human at all, or if you are just living a dogs life. A dog doesn't have a bad life... but at the end of the day it is still a dogs life.
Much less, we all know that it was aliens that released malaria. Just listen to that guy with the big hair.
