Yeah I’m gonna come back to the Old Testament I think. Like you said it’s the old laws. But I responded again so I can Give an explanation of what I think. However I’m still learning, meaning I’m receptive to new things. I changed a sentence I thought needed to be changed so read it over again 😁
@Blessedbeyond No. You need to read the new, improved laws. The New Yestament. The old laws are not needed anymore. God made a New Covenant with man, and priests and the old sacrifices are no longer needed, as Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice, once and all, for mankind and sin.
@Blessedbeyond I think we better start from the very beginning. Good works, never lead to salvation because we are saved by grace, which is UNEARNED favor from God. Not by what we do. From your note above, there are things we need to talk about. Here is the order of salvation.

A sorrowful heart comes from realizing we do have sin in our heart and life, that we need forgiveness for. That then, leads us to seek Jesus as our Savior. We ask Jesus to forgiveness of our sins. He forgives us. Then, as a result of our commitment to Him, he then sends the Holy Spirit to live in us. One can only interpret scripture if they have this Holy Spirit. He is our Teacher and Guide.

It is the Holy Spirit that transforms our heart, not our own doing....after we are saved.

Works never come before salvation. Whenever the Bible talks about good works, it always refers to after we have been saved, never before. The things we do for Jesus AFTER we are saved, are called “fruits of the Spirit” because they reflect our commitment to Christ.
