A very big part of my life,starting back when i was a teenager,i can't imagine life without music. :)
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Ramrod very much the same, got me through many bad miserable events.
Ramrod · 46-50, M
@Primnproper I think music got me thru all my drinking and partying when i was younger. lol
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Ramrod As im sure it did for many a young man. Those were the days..lol

It's everything. My passion, my joy, my side hustle. Nothing even compares.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@uncalled4 H is right it is the best answer.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@Primnproper thanks for BC
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@uncalled4 you're most welcome.
Without it I think I'd genuinely die. I know I would. It's my first and dearest friend in life and I am positive it will be my last when I leave it. When it is quiet and there is nothing else, I hope it will be the music that takes me softly to peace. It is everything to me.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@DancingStarGoddess Totally understand that feeling.
goodlil666 · 51-55, MVIP
It's always been a major part of my life. I love listening to it was hen I work, when I travel and drive. Enjoy it with friends parties , nightclubs and dancing. LOVE live music and have seen hundreds of concerts , many of the most popular rock bands , and some country. Grew up on country but R&R and Heavy metal are my true love. But I enjoy some classical, pop, rap, hop hop, and R&B. The biggest thing for me is that it has helped me battle my depression and anxiety most of my adult life. Combined with meditation I have been able to keep them in check without prescription drugs.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@goodlil666 im not surprised, i use music to help with my moods, feelings..
eyeno · M
I like all music yet I can't even carry a note.

eyeno · M
@Primnproper yes, its whatever mood I'm in which amplifies and takes me away. 👍🏻

Primnproper · 56-60, F
@eyeno Absolutely 💯

I listen to music daily. Mostly classic rock but other genres as well. I’ve recently gotten into listening to some YouTube reaction videos by various people hearing some of my favorite bands/songs for the first time.

It’s so cool how certain songs can take us back to a specific place in time in our lives.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@TravisTx most of us can here a song and straight away know what we were doing at that time..
Coldplay · 56-60, M
Huge part. I listen to a lot of different things. Moods, timing, situations… all bring different types of music. I can’t live without it.
Coldplay · 56-60, M
@Primnproper I really like Sinatra but then I could be jamming with the Stones 5 minutes later…
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Coldplay how funny i listened to his I Got You Under My Skin this morning before i went country. Lol
Coldplay · 56-60, M
@Primnproper can’t go wrong!!
Bowenw · 61-69, M
I often have music on while I work. I love going to concerts, listening to the radio, and watching music related shows/videos on TV and YouTube. Listening to songs from my past is a nice way to reminisce.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Bowenw It most definitely is and also enjoying music from way way back before we came along.
Bowenw · 61-69, M
@Primnproper Very true including classical.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Bowenw Yes very much so.
Ontheroad · M
I seldom listen to music at home, but do when I'm in the car... unless it's during a storm or at night when I turn down the music so I can see to drive😁
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Ontheroad I have that and it helps drown it out for me as I have the persistent high pitch tone constant going on.
Ontheroad · M
@Primnproper Mine is a loud ringing/rush sound that makes it near impossible to understand the words... frustrating as heck and very likely the reason I don't often listen to songs.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Ontheroad That’s a shame.
With music, when I write, the words and ink flow freely.

Likewise, I don't go a day without it.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@SethGreene531 Glad to hear it..👍
ArtieKat · M
Music plays a huge part in my life. I currently have over 8300 tracks on my computer; although I have them separated into about 10 genres I usually have them all on shuffle so I have no idea what's going to play next
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@ArtieKat That’s how I like to play mine too.👍
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
Not enough at the moment. I have been lazy lately. But the piano tuner is working away as I type this and perhaps it will inspire me to start tickling the ivories again!
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Harmonium1923 Absolutely you simply must!🙂
Mudkip · 31-35, M
A huge part. Not just listening but also play instruments as a hobby. I absolutely NEED music when I go running. It's a must
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Mudkip Yes it is absolutely a need..
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Huge. I track time with it. Sometimes I feel like it's bordering with addiction.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@CrazyMusicLover I reckon most of us can say what we were doing when certain hits are played.. not a bad addiction though.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Primnproper I mean the music I found and was listening to. I don't pay much attention to hits. 😅 I guess I only remember some from times I was around the radio a lot and since they were played all the time, it's usually more of an eyeroll memory.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@CrazyMusicLover well I mean we equate many songs of that time with where we were and what we were doing. We can then work out the era.
Northerner · 70-79, M
i listen to it every day. could not live without it. it takes me back to very happy times.😁
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Northerner I can fully understand that..🤗
Northerner · 70-79, M
@Primnproper As a long haul trucker for 40 years I had the radio on constantly.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Northerner Oh I bet you did!👍
probably more than it should. I listen quite often.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@stound music can sometimes help keep us grounded, stop your thoughts going round and round and out of control. The benefits are there.
@Primnproper sure. but every tool is a weapon when you hold it right. or maybe a crutch is a better comparison... the other is a lyric reference, which is kinda me doing it again, perhaps.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@stound we do tend to listen to lyrics that match our moods if we’re not careful. I use it more to combat different moods and feelings so it’s lifting.
OldBrit · 61-69, M
Huge. It always has and I can't imagine life without it,listening or playing.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@OldBrit me neither.👍
Nanori · F
Smth always gotta be playing otherwise I'd lose my mind
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Nanori I know that feeling well. 🤗
Iwillwait · M
I believe it is almost as much a part of my life as breathing.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Iwillwait Can totally relate to that.
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
A very big part, without music I dont think I couldn't cope with life.

I'm always listening to it and I'm always singing and dancing to it.

Music saves me from depression and helps me hide from the real world at 3 minutes at a time.

Music is my therapist if that makes sence to you.
TheFragile · 46-50, M
A huge part.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@TheFragile seems to a lot of us.👍
deadteddy · 26-30, F
A lot. There was a time in my life music was my only and healthiest coping mechanism

Music and reading saved my life after my Dad died 43 years ago when I was 10.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@NativePortlander1970 Can totally relate to that. It’s got me through many traumatic moments through the years.
