Sometimes I think that human beings (the thinking, reasoning, species.) haven't evolved to the point of accepting each other as people. The focus is on the differences rather than the things in common. But, I do see that changing and I am optimistic about the future.

I'd say those are lifeless, soulless corpses, not lives. Probably just me tho.
@AvGeek: I say that I agree and it's not just you. Hopefully, those people that died were special to someone when they were alive.
Homeless, hungry, disabled, sick, young and old, lives count too.
