One my school mathematics teachers behaved rather like that.
He was an arrogant bombast who suffered no fools gladly - a "fool" apparently including anyone who did not like and/or struggled to understand the subject he was paid to help them understand.
His mantra he would sometimes shout to the class was, "Maths is easy! It's YOU who make the difficulties!"
