We have all seen I. ROBOT or TERMINATOR... which future would you like... And which one would we end up with if we keep giving more and more control to silicon chips... Might seem far fetched or preposterous but so did the idea of flight or the earth is round.... Think long n hard people before we hand everything to computers that learn quicker than we do
Technology has increased the amount of leisure time people have by making things more efficient and increases profits, AI is just an extension of that. Jobs have always been lost to many technological innovations.
What should happen, in the perfect world run by AI, is the average person's leisure time will increase, and the profits made by not hiring people would be directed into the community bc people wouldn't be working anymore.
@Woofwoof15 if AI takes over the vast majority of jobs, people who can't get a job wouldn't be lazy.
The gov will have to strike a balance if it doesn't want people living off of the system, but people living off of the system is the only realistic option. All the work is being done by AI and people in charge of the gov and big business should nip their own greed in the bud and give away all the profits they make to the community, given that money is no longer going into the community from people working and there would literally be no option to work
Wealth will have to be redistributed equitably to keep the economy going. You can't continue to concentrate wealth in a diminishing number of pockets. If the economy collapses nobody benefits and AI is effectively useless.
@QuietSophie exactly this. But the only thing we'll see is the wealthy people making excuses as to why they should keep all the money they make from not employing people and turning to AI
