It would seem there's enough honesty here, that it might be worth another go at it. Even if someone says or does something that would seem to be out of alignment with friendship, they have their history of injuries too - injuries which led them to react rather than respond, to say or do things out of fear or anger. Many times, people don't know how hurtful something they might have said has hurt someone. But that doesn't mean they're not as deserving of friendship as anyone else. And in fact, it's the "right" kind of friendship that could help them get through their hard, unresolved feelings they tend to dump on others.

I don't know about your doing the "right" thing. You did the next thing, which was right for you at the time. Do you think you might contact your friend and see what you could work out? 🤗

Yep you did. Closure is good. I have had a few breakups that ended bad but we are still friends
