Just wait until you get older and people's filters start going away.
You meet up with olds friends and think, were you always this way or did your weirdness volume just go up?

No its a very common things. Its a snapshot of a moment, a person, a feeling, a joy.

We can have voids in our lives, and someone comes along and fills them completely.

We grow and chane (as do they) and when we try to have them occupy that vacancy again its not quite the same.

A kiss on the forhead after falling down as children can magically make things better, as adults when we hurt that same thing seems to lose that all encompassing healing effect.

It’s not bullshit.
It’s life and experience.

HikingMan · 51-55, M
You figured correctly.
And people say wisdom isn’t for the young….

Keep proving them wrong.

Makes sense.
We are never the person we use to be. Always changing and hopefully for the better.
Ashly · 26-30, F
@Sojournersoul hopefully 🤞🏻

Nah I get it
I feel that way about times as well.

I really loved my high school years - drove back a few times after graduation and it was different.

We remember people as the last time we saw them. What you're saying makes perfect sense. It's also the reason after meeting that person again so many years later you say to yourself, I don't know this person.
That version of you other people carry in their minds, is the only place it can be. It's unfortunate that when they have a problem with that image, they project their problem onto you, as though you're responsible for their uncomfortable feelings.
