Yes. My husband and I lived there for a year In Wainwright, an Eskimo village on the arctic coast about 90 miles from Barrow. I liked Fairbanks. Anchorage was okay.
@Nebula It's a very beautiful place. Wainwright was too isolated for me, but Alaska overall is an awesome place. Are you thinking about visiting there?
