The sinner's prayer is a short prayer to signify a person's longing for and commitment to following Jesus Christ. It involves acknowledging something we all have in our lives and that is sin that separates us from God, until we invite him into our heart and life as Savior. It's expressing belief in Jesus' sacrifice on the cross to atone for our sins, then inviting him into your heart and life.
Here's a common example prayer to guide you, if you'd like to know Jesus as your Savior, and invite him into your heart and life today:
"Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and I believe you died on the cross for my sins. I turn from those sins and put my faith in you right now and ask you to be my Savior, my God and Friend. Thank you for hearing this prayer. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen"
You don't have to "get right" with Jesus, before you ask him to be your Savior. He already loves and accepts you, just as you are. You have only to turn from your sins, to Jesus. There's always room for one more, at the cross. He turns no one away.
"Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and I believe you died on the cross for my sins. I turn from those sins and put my faith in you right now and ask you to be my Savior, my God and Friend. Thank you for hearing this prayer. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen"
My morning Prayer today.
An excellent Testimony. Thank you Grace for sharing.
@DanielsASJ Thank you. Jesus hears us the first time, those that have asked to be saved. We don't have to ask a second time. We were Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, the moment we said "I believe" to Christ, and invited him into our heart and life, to stay.
John 8:36, where Jesus states, "If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed".
Rom. 8 Verses 38 to 39
"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
