i dont think it does but the gas companies add something else to it so you can tel a gas leak

Nope. Commercial methane has identifiers mixed in it to aid in leak detection.
Breathe it in for five minutes and report back your findings to us.

Methane (CH4) is the main ingredient in natural gas. It is odorless. An odor is added to it, to allow people to sense if there is a leak.
IDK but If it doesn't have to have a smell, it has a kaboom!
