Cremation is less obtrusive on the environment. Burial takes up space for centuries, or forever.

@RabbitWithWine In my state, they don't allow that. Problem is that they don't want scavengers/wild animals to develop a taste for human flesh.

Cremation. Burial involves concrete liners, so it's never really 'ashes to ashes' anymore. Then there's the embalming fluid and other chemicals.
Crematoriums are strictly regulated and emit little smoke. There are actually two burners: one for the coffin and one to burn off all the smoke, gas and CO2 released from the coffin, which is then dispersed.

Since we all die and have to be dealt with in some way...I'm going for cremation.
I won't be needing a casket and can have an urn that can be buried on land or in water.
