Three reasons why "god" doesn't answer prayers:
1) It doesn't exist
2) It never existed
3) It never will exist.

I read opinions that reality influences itself, according to your prayer..
it should be specific and long...
and then according to the "statistics" they adapt to it ...
(according to the state of your soul, your consciousness, the number of sins or good things you have done and so on)

Actually you can narrow it down to just one : he’s not there

When I used to pray, I would never ask anything of God because I believed in his divine plan. I will get what God wants. I used to pray just to thank God for what I have and commit myself to being good.
Where God is doing wrong, you say in your title??? He's perfect. He cannot err.

All of your posts are long and detailed. This works against the message you're attempting to convey. Seriously, does a relationship with God necessitate entire essays containing reams of advice and explanation? It's exhausting just reading them. Have you ever heard the term, "he doth protest too much"? It means the longer and more passionate is your explanation, the more likely it is that the opposite holds true.
You doth protest too much
You doth protest too much

@Richard65 Yeah, I'm simply unable to read so much dogma built on scripture and assumptions. I prefer logical arguements.

@JimboSaturn I agree. Even as a lapsed Catholic, I can still find interest in spiritual matters. But when it's explained in forensic detail like this, then I zone out.
If I was to develop a spiritual part of my being, I would be drawn more towards pagan beliefs....

When (If?) God flooded the world, he wiped out all of mankind, except Noah and some selected few. That means there were many innocent people, including children, that were killed. How do you square that? I can not and I will not!
Where was God during the Holocaust? Just a spectator? Innocent people were murdered.
Some 'wise' people say he answers every prayer....and many times the answer is 'No.'
Remember that the next time a precious, innocent child is murdered or dies due to a terrible malady.
I will never claim to have all the answers, in fact, I have few.....but I have a long list of unanswered questions that no person wearing a robe or white collar, or cross around their neck, have been able to answer. I hope to be given the opportunity one day to ask the almighty my list of questions and listen to the answers.

@JSul3 Ask Carrazza that, she has a wonderful explanation of God's love lol
@JSul3 I wonder what excuses it would come up with.

Because we don't have a hot line to God for every whim and fancy to have our way. It doesn't work like that. It's whatever HIS will is.

I'll have to come back to this one, I just don't have the energy to debate this right now.

@calicuz I know the feeling!!!

It's more complicated than that.
When you pray for something, that's "magic thinking". It's you trying to influence the world around to do your bidding. Believers and non-believers do these invitations on daily basis.
If you just say praises and gratitude to God, that is keeping your ego in check therefore cultivating humility. Your counselor or therapist can help with that.
At the end of the day, is God really involved? Is God really there?
