@MoonaNorth86 not me 😂😂😂
He friend zoned you.
TBH...your read indicates to me that early on he had feels for you (hence the "serious" questions) but over time he perhaps met someone else and moved on in another direction.... If when you talked about the "serious stuff", you mentioned your folks attitude (the "dating is out the window" thing), you may have scared him off TBH as he may have felt there would be no chance with you.
BTW you said
I also sense that he may be somewhat insecure (read shy). Point being: it never hurts to tell a guy what you are feeling (about your feels for him). Guys appreciate this especially if it matches their own feels ... and if they don't have any, well then they will usually tell you straight out that they just want to be "just friends."
What to do you ask....
Continue to acknowledge him (be a friend). He may come around and he may not. So be mentally prepared for that.
FWIW, I was very casual "friends" with my spouse and even dated many of our mutual friends over the many years it took for us to finally figure out we would make a great couple.

. I've heard this exact line from many of my friends.... and I tell them all "Yeah he/she was busy, maybe work/maybe parentals over shoulder/maybe at a movie....." @MoonaNorth86 Sometimes, but my situation is different. They wanted me to study and be independent which would help me in the future. Obvs, it was up to me, and i decided to follow that.
