Has Anyone Ever Been in a Abusive Relationship?

I recently just got out of a abusive relationship with a British chick.

While this woman was an absolute sweetheart, she had alot of issues like Retroactive Jealousy among other things. These issues made her do things to me I shouldn't have ever forgiven, such as using my own weaknesses against me whenever we argued, always dangling past mistakes over my head even MONTHS after such things happened, and generally being emotionally manipulative. Always made it about her feelings and how she was always wronged, never took any sort of accountability for her own actions. Never let things go, and would ALWAYS believe in her assumptions/insinuations over my word even if she was wrong. Any time another woman was brought up, even just a former friend, she would EXPLODE. Before we broke up, she used my own trauma against me in ways I would REALLY rather not get into.

Yet I'm supposed to be OK with her talking about her ex so fondly and lovingly? I'm supposed to be okay with only talking on the phone once a week? I'm supposed to be okay with only receiving pictures from her during special occasions like christmas or my Birthday? Okay with video chatting on a once-a-month basis? Okay with being ghosted anytime I inherently said something that offended you? Nah, I said to myself I'm not doing it anymore. I have more value than this. In alot of ways I'm proud of myself for getting out of it. But I do sometimes think about her, I hope she someday sees that she isn't a victim. That she was just as responsible as I was for our relationship's downfall. Somehow I doubt she'll ever see it though.

Control freaks like that learn how to manipulate early. Luckily I haven't been through it, but I know someone that has, and it's shockingly close to what you describe. Victimhood complexes run rampant, and if you happen to hear about her later, you'll learn that it was all exagerated, if not completely made up.

Yes, was a long time ago now, it has you questioning yourself so much but it's true what people say, it makes you a stronger person once you get away and can see them clearly for what they are. Here's to you, being strong and the start of an awesome future ahead. 🍺

@Chernobylplaygrounds How did it end?
@TheMasterMan1 i broke it off with him because he chose drugs over me .

@Chernobylplaygrounds Damn, I'm sorry to hear that. It's honestly sad how some people just don't see the need to change or seek help with these kinds of issues. While my ex was never a drug addict (thankfully), she similarly never did see the need to change, she always thought she was blameless and without blemish. These are the kinds of people I try to avoid like the plague now. Everyone's gotta accept some responsibility, and she unfortunately could not do that. All she knew how to do was point the finger at me.

I don’t do virtual only relationships, that has no meaning to me.

@uncalled4 Yeah that's essentially my plan now. That crazy b*tch really messed with my self-esteem and even tried to tell me I'd never find anyone as patient and forgiving as her. Ppl like that will only drag you down
