Basic human nature doesn't change.

Some women may become "desperate" for while if they discover in their thirties that their window for finding a good prospective father for their children is closing. They might become more proactive about meeting more men and vetting them for their desire and ability to be good partners, nest makers and loving and nurturing fathers.
Of course, by this stage, a woman's chances of getting pregnant and carrying to full term are diminishing, and her chances of giving birth to a child with severe disabilities are increasing - so yes, an element of desperation may creep in - until in her 40's she realises it's already too late.

The ony difference now is that we have artificial reproductive techologies, so, if rich enough, some women will turn to the horrors of IVF.

It’s prob just in the age bracket. Slim pickins after age 35 I’ve found for men and women alike. And I had all my shit together when I was single. Cute too.
