It's not uncommon at all...having never dated in HS, I didn't start doing so until I was in my early 20s, and was so nervous the first time I did so that I could barely speak! While subsequent dates weren't nearly as bad, they were still somewhat anxiety-provoking, but as I gradually got more comfortable with the dating scene, those feelings of anxiety started to ease, just as I'm sure they gradually will for you. 😊

It's normal to have anxiety when things are important, or the situation involves unknowns, etc.--dating is a combination of important and unknown elements...and you say you have a history of anxiety, so you *expect* it...like the placebo effect.

So just take some deep breaths, calm down...and be yourself. As a human, that means you'll be a bundle of contradictions which all of us *real* people are...

So be that, be you...and don't worry or prejudge--neither will do anything but waste your energy and make your time together less than what it *can* be.

You're fine--go experience life. You'll be ok. 😊
