I met this girl online, she lives in NY… She came to see me in Paris and now we’re officially dating.

We spent two wonderful weeks together, she discovered Paris with me and then we went to the south of France. Now she’s back in NY and I feel empty.

1st of all congrats 2 u 4 finding a loving gf...😊😊😊 but now u hav 2 deal with a long-distance relationship, and tbh long-distance relationships r a lot more difficult 2 maintain than ordinary relationships...😀😀😀 ive never dealt with long-distance relationships b4 so im afraid i cant give u much advice...😔😔😔 hvr i wish u best luck and hopefully the relationship will work out and u 2 will be able 2 successfully enter marriage in the end😉😉😉

Now you have to negotiate the difficulty of a long distance relationship, or one of you moves or the decision I took when I had to work in the USA. I commuted back and forth most weekends

@OldBrit Yup. Even economically it’s a difficulty. Flights to the US aren’t cheap but we’ll make it work. In a few years, she can move to me or I can move to her.

@Strawb I was lucky I could afford it and my company very understanding too allowing me to claim business trips that arguably I could have done a different way etc.

I remember when I first got to know my lj ( my now decreased wife) it was hell.... the being apart.

She laughed and emphasized, "think of it like waiting for xmas".....

Oy, I had trouble not "opening" beforehand each xmas.

Thank the gods we had the intertubes, then it was email & irc chat.... and the phone.

Each time I got to be w/was better than any xmas!
