Should it be illegal to call somebody a fag?

One of the problems with making it illegal to call someone “gay” or "fag" is that it violates the First Amendment right to Freedom of Speech. However, few people today understand and value Freedom of Speech. Most people seem to believe that it is worth getting rid of Freedom of Speech in order to protect people’s feelings.

I've always hated that term, even homo. To me, they sound very demeaning. I've always preferred 'gay'. But even that is difficult at times to say. We need to come up with something kinder than any of those. A dear friend whose passed used to say "He's a johns kind of fellow"
