Dying often involves slipping in and out of sleep, so perhaps what you describe is not ever so unusual.

I don’t think it’s common, but I too think anything can happen. The deaths I have witnessed were mostly peaceful and quiet, but they gave the impression they had already taken the step out of this world.

@Mamapolo2016 that's how I pictured it was going to be but it was not. I wonder if anyone here works for hospice

Sounds like something from a movie. I imagine anything can happen. I have heard that some people get a last burst of energy before they pass...

@Punches It's so great that she was able to get that last bit of gardening in, I assume that was a hobby of hers? I recently lost my dad and when I visited him the Saturday before I thought to myself wow his skin color looks good, and he was in good spirits, no reason to suspect anything, and the Tuesday he passed in his sleep...he was 98.

Sorry if this is weird
Who knows ?
Jonjdw · 51-55, M
You actually witnessed this?
YoMomma ·
Was the person a joker/prankster in their normal life? Maybe they were pretend sleeping to prank you?
Who's to say what's normal.
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
People often hallucinate when they are dying, so things like that aren't abnormal.
Nebula · 41-45, F
@AntisocialTroll well I know he was hallucinating a week or two before that. He also had brain cancer
pancakeslam · 46-50, M
dying itself doesn't seem normal. maybe they were passing over to the other side and seeing visions.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
Weird things happen to dying people's brains, that's for sure.
Nebula · 41-45, F
@MartinTheFirst I don't like it
masterofyou · 70-79, M
Actually it was me taking over his body as a demonic force....
Nebula · 41-45, F
@masterofyou ok
