Once a few years ago. Me, my wife. her mother and my daughter, about 12 at the time. It was almost an hour to get us out. It was very worn in there and all of us were thirsty but not scary at all. It was more boring than anything else. Nothing to do but just sit there on the flour.

@SparklingWater NOT 12 people! My daughter was 12 years old. It was just us 4 in the Elevator.

I got in an elevator in Taiwan at a university at night with no one else around. The doors closed and I pushed the button. Nothing happened. I thought "Oh no. It is stuck!" I didn't know what to do.
After a short time it began to jerk up and down. It didn't seem to move far. Just jerk up and down. Then it stopped moving. I was afraid, thinking the elevator might break and crash down.
Then the doors opened, and the place was totally black! I was terrified. You know, one of those instant things like "Am I in hell?" or something like that. But I stepped out of the elevator quickly because I was afraid of the elevator.
I felt my way through the dark place and found a door. The door was unlocked....so relieved....so I opened it. There was a set of stairs. I walked up them and came to the lobby. I had been in the basement.
The building guard saw me and was surprised, because he didn't know how I got in the basement. The elevator was set to go only down to the lobby. It couldn't go to the basement....but it did.
