@Cierzo , you mean to say that Hitler wasn't an evil ?
Northwest · M
Trump is really good about promoting himself. Hitler comparisons aside (a lot of politicians fit the pattern), he has no clue how to be successful in the technology and manufacturing sectors. He knows about gambling and real estate, and even there, he destroyed 4 businesses. There's nothing he can offer to the average American, that is other than sound bites. He inherited his money, and mismanaged it.
He will not release his taxes, because he's lying and does not want to be exposed. He is a hypocrite. He called for Romney to release his taxes, but will not release his own (he said that he will in November).
He has no plan on how to win against China.
He has no plan on how to make it possible to produce durable goods in the US.
He has not plan on how to defeat ISIL. That is, other than his call to bring back torture.
He talks about trade agreements, but has only surface level understanding.
The thing about forcing Muslim citizens to register, is definitely Hitler'esque, and I don't know what he would do with that registry. Will they all be called anytime a Muslim misbehaved, anywhere around the world? Or will we construct concentration, er, internment camps for them, like we did to Japanese Americans in WWII? Or we might simply implant tracking chips somewhere in their bodies, so we can track their movements? I'd like to know what the plan is.
When pushed to provide answers, he usually tosses in the name of someone who is knowledgeable, and says something like "what we should do, is sit down with this person, yes, that's what we should do". That's a credible plan!
On Internet security breaches, he said "what we will do, is sit down with Bill Gates and discuss it", then he jumped off to another topic. Doesn't he know that Bill Gates has no fucking clue when it comes to serious Internet security? We already have people in place who are the top of their field in Internet Security. It's just another tactic he uses: pick something the people are upset about (computer viruses, and computer crime), and toss in some nonsense.
Worse part, he believes his own bullshit.

Adolf Hitler - responsible for the death of over 6,000,000 Jews
Donald Trump - Well... he said some things you didn't like.
So sure, why not compare him to Hitler....

So in your opinion, if Trump were to become POTUS, he would use his new found power to fuel a genocide? And you're basing this opinion on... because he said some things that you didn't agree with?
Sure, you could point out a few asinine similarities between the two on a very basic level, but then you're ignoring all the political conditions and personal motivations which saw Hitler become capable of what he did. For instance;
- Hitler wanted to exterminate all German Jewish citizens, regardless of whether they assimilated into German culture or not. A stark contrast to Trump who, albeit not very eloquently, says if you want to live in America you should assimilate to American culture.
- Trump's shtick more or less explicitly revolves around immigrants who come to America illegally, and though some of his comments are borderline, he's not really talking about race as a whole. Whereas Hitler was all about the Jews as a race - he was obsessed with their expulsion from Germany, and ultimately their extermination.
- Most importantly, Trump is proposing limitations on how to get in and and become an American; more immigration officers, E-verify to halt illegal immigrants being hired in place of real American citizens, deporting illegal immigrants - oh, and building a wall.
In comparison, Hitler, and this is way before he got into power, explicitly stated that no Jew could ever become a German citizen in his eyes. Just read his 25 point program from 1920. And when Hitler did come into power, he used a PRIVATE army to carry out his will - an army that was already established a decade before Hitler and the Nazi's came around, that targeted Jews in a very violent way.
So comparing the two really is a senseless and moronic thing to do. The people who make this comparison are uneducated dopes who want to appear like they're saying something edgy and politically cutting, when in reality they're doing no such thing. You think you're the first person to compare a politician running for POTUS to Hitler? Nope - they did it to Bush, they did it to Reagan, they did it to Johnson and they'll do it to the next guy. So enough of this pointless diatribe - try to think of something original.

Obama's first term slogan: Change
Obama's second term slogan: Forward
These two words were in 99.99% of Hitlers speeches.

"I wish it wouldn't. Hitler was true evil. No one should be equated with him. It's kind of insult to the memory of those who perished under orders from him."
Mostly agree, especially with respect to contemporary U.S. politicians.
But I think we can lump a quite few others in with Hitler. Hideki Tojo, Josef Stalin, Saddam Hussein, Pol Pot for example. Not to mention quite a number of Nazis, too. Heinrich Himmler, Hermann Göring, Fritz Sauckel, etc.

you could literally make the same case with bernie sanders.

I would argue this conversation started long before this post

He did many evil things, he was right in others. He was quite right when he blamed foreign powers, the overwhelming sanctions imposed on Germany after World War I were one of the seeds of nazism ( when had Trump blamed foreign countries for the troubles in America, by the way?).
It was horrendous what Hitler did to Jews, but it is true that Jewish bankers were totally against him because Reich economy was not based on credit.
Both Trump and Hitler want their countries strong. Yes, as every normal person who does not love decadence does.
I am not buying tales of 'absolute evil'.

😀
Given ever-decreasing attention spans I would say that too often "Hitler" or "Nazis" come up right after someone says they "hate" someone.

Trump is not responsible for the death of 6 million people because he is not in power yet

@beckyromero: yes, I would also include all the names on your list. Pol Pot may have been worse, the same with Stalin. These two had no particular agenda, and simply killed for fun.
