There's lots of blame to go around. I've said it over and over: we should have listened to Margaret Thatcher.

We should have gone to Baghdad in 1991, finished the job and hung Saddam Hussein (after a fair trail of course). The indictments should have included his war crimes against Iran.

Then we should have gotten the hell out of the Muslim nations in the Middle East. I've said this a thousand times. We did not need any military bases there.

No U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia would have removed Osama bin Laden's main recruiting tool.
@beckyromero US gets to leave the Persian Gulf and the middle east because US is getting kicked out.

There are places where air bases and land forces are needed, such as in Europe and South Korea.

And then there's every other place on the globe that can be taken care of by the United States Navy.

We could easily have had 15 carrier battle groups, as well as the additional attack subs needed to deter China, if we weren't wasting hundreds of billions of dollars in the deserts of the Middle East. Nor do we need to be "propping up" the oil sheiks there.

If someplace there needs a bombing or two, the Navy can do the job. There's no place on Earth that is safe for the enemies of freedom.
