Considering when I was coming up we had chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits, dogs, cats, hogs, and scheduling pony.

Our chickens you could just walk up to them and get one / feed or no feed.

But are you saying that in Judeo/Christianity God is baiting us in just to kill us?
