@22Michelle Trump voters are the most intelligent Americans today. And it's a reason to be optimistic, because we make up most of the country. The public schools apparently aren't doing as badly as some people think.

If we are talking about cuts to funding science it can absolutely make doing those very things near impossible within a capitalist system.

If we are talking about the climate change conspiracy theory nuts claiming scientists are making millions to fake science.....I can say none of those people know anything about scientific and academic grants. That is not a thing. Nobody is buying a Bentley with their grant money regardless of the results of the research.

@jshm2 Yes, and guess what? The "consensus" changes. That's why science works! Having said that, science knew about the link between smoking and lung cancer back in the 50s. But cigarette companies paid a lot of money to cover it up.
