The unabashed aim of the Trump Regime is to break insitutions or at best to remold them into something different.

The idea that Trump/Patel/Bondi, for example, are deweaponizing the DOJ is absurd, although Bondi and Patel have parroted it while avoiding being directly confronted with the fact that they're only deweaponizing against Trump and white collar criminals, while fully utilizing it and other government agencies against Trump's enemies, or those who won't or can't do him favors.

Honestly, these two, it seems to me, do a better job of "passing" as public servants than some of the others.
