Trump's "golden age" ideas are romanticizing those years. Trump is smart enough to know that if he keeps repeating how glorious those years were, his cult will believe him, fully. History, not that long ago, factual, documented and accepted history is...fake news.

I didn't read the whole post, I just skimmed it. I think the writer is also missing something, barring the possibility that she mentioned it and I missed that. Tariffs affect the cost of importing raw materials that are not available domestically. Even if American companies start manufacturing more, which is far from a given, they will pay the workers less and charge more for the goods to offset the tariff tax on the raw materials. Higher prices and lower wages. Wasn't that very scenario a major factor in 1929?

One other factor they left out here is the fact that after WW2 the other factories of the world were rubble piles filled with un-exploded ordinance.

@Reason10 You are aware that the bond market nearly crashed, right?
You are aware that major manufacturing coming back is never going to happen because labor in China is nill and they work 12 hours days, 6 days a week.
It would take 20 years or more to make it happen....but at the rate Trump is destroying relationships with our closest allies, we will likely see America First Becoming America Last
BTW, what degree or education gives you holy honor to discuss economics?
