Is Pelosi vs McCarthy a fair fight?

Pelosi rejected Banks and Jordan, so McCarthy wont play and is pulling the other 3.

I said at the beginning that I thought McConnell was leaving McCarthy on the limb he climbed out on.

Pelosi, right or wrong, seems to be driving a pretty big knife between Trumpists and Republicans who serve the Republic. This will be interesting to watch play out, as sad as it is.

How many investigations do they need
Graylight · 46-50, F
[@2021,MarineBob], I don't know. How many did we need for Benghazi or emsils? A dozen? 19?

[@113373,TexChik] Where did I say it was worse? Where did I even compare it?

That is close to the dumbest thing you've posted--and that's saying something. You just 9/11'd harder than Giuliani when he ran for prexy. Sad.

McCarthy is getting what he really wants, which is to disrupt and de-legitimize the committee's investigation. If Banks and Jordan were accepted, all good for him, because they'd turn it into a circus. If they're rejected, just another whip to flail the Democrats with. And it gives him an excuse to pull all of his recommendations from the committee, which gives him even more opportunities to attack its legitimacy.

The GOP is only interested in spreading fear and chaos to keep the Democrats from accomplishing anything.

[@10617,DunningKruger] this☝️.

All orchestrated by that orange dude in jersey.

[@10617,DunningKruger] Ted Cruz is single-handedly holding up over 60 state department nominations to make political hay. Nevermind that it leaves us internationally weakened and vulnerable, he needs campaign dollars!
Pfuzylogic · M
That January 6 riot needs to be investigated by people that use their common sense. The lives of the legislature were threatened particularly the Democrats and ironically Pence. Pelosi is very shrewd to take off the republicans that were grinding a political axe from the start.
[@3118,Pfuzylogic] I was talking about appointing Thompson to chair the committee. Should I google for a lawsuit?
[@3118,Pfuzylogic] WOW. Im glad I did google it.

I enjoy Pelosi’s leadership. She doesn’t shy away from necessary action!

McCarthy got his instructions from Trump. Pelosi cannot provide the insurrectionists with a podium.

It is the only play. She has Cheney on the committee. Let the hearings begin.
[@9416,Northwest] Should they leave empty chairs for the rebel faction?
Northwest · M
[@479686,MistyCee] Too Clint Eastwood'ish.
TexChik · F
Such a propaganda piece . You assume there was an insurrection ? Proof ? There just happened to be cameras everywhere atvtge exact time , the capitol police allowed people to just walk In? Such BS .

Insurrections happen no secret, at night while the public sleeps to avoid being seen , like maybe during an election?
TexChik · F
[@479686,MistyCee] I answered that . As long as corruption has the majority vote it doesn’t matter
[@113373,TexChik] I apologize for missing that.

Pelosi is a conniving witch, but she's much smarter than the McConnel. It hurts me to admit that, but McConnel is weak. I support doing ANYTHING to stop her nastiness.

Republicans as a whole look to do the "right thing". That no longer exists. I believe the left will do anything to get their way and have proven it. It's time for the sharp knives to come out in the Republican camp. And who cares if someone doesn't like it. The democrats are playing chess, the republicans are playing checkers. That's it in a nutshell.
carpediem · 61-69, M
[@479686,MistyCee] Yes, there are sharp knives. They stab each other in the back with them.
[@112526,carpediem] OK, I'll buy such things exist, even if I don't know who they are.

But, are you saying they should come out against Pelosi, or that the sharp knives in the party should stab others in the back?

My original point was sort of that that's what Pelosi was setting up with this thing.
carpediem · 61-69, M
[@479686,MistyCee] They should use those sharp knives against the evil witch herself... pelosi.

Pelosi will do anything no matter how ugly, no matter how nasty, no matter how hateful to get what she wants. The republicans have not matched her level of conniving deceit. They need to and more.
Pelosi sits quietly knowing she just checkmated Trump.

Within 48 hrs Trump says Pelosi shut down the Government.
OggggO · 31-35, M
[@19729,TheRascallyOne] I loathe McConnel, but I'll credit him with being one of the ballsiest senators of my lifetime. Dude has been willing to engage in flagrant, astounding hypocrisy and utterly ignored every single precedent, norm, and unwritten rule to maintain his deathgrip on the Senate and through it most of the American government because he's realized the Senate democrats will do absolutely nothing meaningful to stop him.
[@328832,OggggO] See what I just posted with Cheney going after McCarthy. McConnell is just watching from the background and waiting for his play.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
She'd most probably kick his ass, he's a wuss!
Looks like Pelosi cut in the right place

[@18045,akindheart] I get it, and tbh, the idea that Trump was set up, not just here, but on many prior ocasions, is not really that implausible. Putin and Pelosi are the two most obivous examples that come to mind.

I'm not really so much into speculating about the FBI, Soros, or the Elders of Zion being behind the Insurrection without more than I've seen, but that's just me.
akindheart · 61-69, F
[@479686,MistyCee] thanks for the concesssion on that one! everybody tends to blame Soros. We know his hands are in many bad things. never heard of the Elders of Zion. but the FBI andCIA are evil. to the core
[@18045,akindheart] Lol.

Watch out when I make concessions and add stuff like that.

I've been told I'm sneaky and deceptive, along with a bunch of other not so nice adjectives.

Here's a link on the Protocols.

Pelosi plays hardball.

McCarthy is playing tee-ball.

[@3118,Pfuzylogic] [@31716,beckyromero] Does Widdle Kevin get a participation award?
Pfuzylogic · M
[@339454,windinhishair]
I think he did get an award for the best pouty face. 🤣
It was the smart move. The Republicans were looking to put people on the committee to whitewash and spin the events of January 6th and justify the actions of those people. And they would have worked to bury anything they could not spin. And the GOP are going to scream and whine about partisan bias regardless so there is no change there either way.
