Social Democracy is not Socialism. Social Democracy is Capitalism with a welfare state and government intervention in the market. Socialism refers to worker's ownership and control of the means of production. Social Democracy is a step up from pure unfettered capitalism, but it's really more of a bandaid than a cure.
