HALLOWEEN
(c) 2018 Edward York

Soon all the leaves will have fallen,
Bringing to us a new dawn.
The collection of gold and orange,
All scattered on our lawn.

The children rush with excitement,
Not knowing of restraint.
Smiles across their faces,
All hidden under their paint.

They shuffle through the darkness,
Rushing up to every door.
Carrying bags that's filled with candy,
But hoping for some more.

The neighbors see them coming,
All hidden by a mask.
Each house is like a job to do,
As they finish every task.

They travel through the neighborhood,
Without a sign of fear,
Then they put away all the ghost and goblins,
Until they come again next year.
