@FloorGenAdm I remember sending off for his 'course' when I was about 12. He advertised in the Batman comics that were imported from the States. My sensible parents assured me that this was not necessary and I never sent him a penny. Happy days!! 🤣

@FloorGenAdm :-) There was a strange fashion in the 1950s and early 60s for body-building. I think it was more common in the USA than anywhere else but it did spawn dubious ads like that, and a large trade in soft-porn "physique" magazines!

I recall seeing the ads in the sort of magazines dotted around the barbers' shop I used when but a lad of 10 or so.

I wonder if many men did reach that much-vaunted triangular shape!
