They’re easier to care for only eating a large frozen thawed rat once every tow to three weeks and cleaning their cage a week after and keeping their water fresh. But they are more fragile we fed her one wild mouse that the cat killed and she died I don’t know if it was a parasite or bacteria from the cats mouth that killed her but she got to go outside one last time to crawl through the grass on our front lawn one last time before she passed!@SpaceCreature

@saintsong yeah sounds like it.. their systems are vulnerable.. not adapted to wild stuff with bacteria and parasites.. it's an honest mistake though.. I've lost reptiles to honest mistakes that in hindsight seemed so obvious but they are very sensitive to every little thing.

Long ago my little Bro had a pet Iguana for years...
One day it sat too long on a new heat rock that was too hot. It almost died. It was burned and shriveled. My mom is a traditional woman and dislikes those types of things but sat for days and hand fed it back to health warming it with her bodyheat while we went to school. One day when it was almost OK again she left it on the sofa next to her which we usually dont do. It was still kinda weak but on the mend. My larger little brother came right in and flopped down hard on the little guy killing him instantly. Sad.
