I’m SO sorry for your loss. I know from my own experience how these beautiful creatures who give so much unconditional love find their way into your heart. They don’t stay long enough. We’ve been through this five times and we have a beautiful, elderly greyhound who we cherish every day she has left. Don’t stop talking about her, grieve and she will slowly ease your pain. Don’t rush but when you know the time is right you can find another friend. Whatever it will never replace her but the next one will have a different character and you’ll love it just as much but in a different way.

Don’t rush though. The pain will ease I promise you
@Stonehenge thank you so much. this is our second dog to die since my husband and i got together. the first was a complete shock so i thought i would die. Tabitha was sick for awhile so i was almost relieved because i couldn't stand seeing her in pain.
